The Moon

I have been following the Moon as long as I have been walking.

I have not missed a Full Moon since 2005.

We all need to create a balance in our lives through merging our rational and instinctual desires, taking and releasing elements of both.

I believe the following:

The Moon governs our feelings, emotions, and the ability to nurture ourselves.

The Sun governs our identity, ego, and sense of self.

I am about to read a new book “Wild Thing” all about going back to when you were a child and remembering our imagination and creativity. The joy we felt when we were a child needs to be reawakened as we grow older.

I remember years ago, when Kelowna still had Orchards and no building was more than 3 stories high. I took my daughter (5 years old at the time) on a hike up Knox Mountain and how curious she was, picking up garter snakes, letting them go and really enjoying exploring nature. A sense of freedom and wild.

Spring 2021

Spring is my favorite season, although I do enjoy all the seasons. Spring brings the beginning of growth for nature. All the harshness of the past winter is gone and a beginning for all the plants and trees. Walking in the spring is so joyful, as we see the beauty of nature begin anew. I change my shoes in the spring and find I have a spring to my step, it feels like a lightness as I too begin to plan my first walking adventure of the year.

A Simple Life

The health benefits of walking highlight the brain and the body.

Walking encourages our human body to move and grow..

Mountains are examples of our inner minds, exploring the dark and light within.

Universe, sun, moon, stars and the planets give us perspective. we can learn so much from seeing how they all work together.

Just like we need to work together collectively as humans and see that we can harmonize together to assist one another and continue to grow.

New Beginnings

Today is a new path for me, the ability to share and express the joy of walking. I have been walking for 16 years and find it gives me peace, joy, health and community. I have had so many adventures, because I took a risk and walked out the door to explore. Somedays are really easy to get out the door, where others are a challenge. There is always something different, but nature is beautiful.
